ING AUSTRALIA ENTERPRISE INFORMATION EXCHANGE

“i-BAHN was seen as a value for money solution. The roadmap for integration was to
take existing solutions and move onto i-BAHN to gain greater efficiencies and
control”. Sanjeev Bhola, Enterprise Architect, ING Australia.

Background

ING Australia is a subsidiary of the global investment banking institution ING Group which operates in more than sixty-five countries around the world and employs 100,000 staff.

ING Australia’s operations have been in business since 1878 initially as Mercantile Mutual, and then in 1982 it became part of what is now ING Group, and in 2002 became a joint venture between ING Group, which owns 51% and ANZ Bank which owns 49%. The company has built a reputation for quality products and outstanding customer service.

The Situation

ING Australia had established a number of new mission critical projects to allow the exchange of information across the enterprise. These projects included the establishment of a file transfer hub that facilitate the following:
Cross platform support
Support for all protocols and data formats
Integrity checking
Business logic
High reliability
Comprehensive audit
Flexible alerting

All of these projects had to be developed in an environment that offered the highest level of security.

ING Australia had also established an enterprise gateway to facilitate centralised process integration between disparate interactive systems and to allow the establishment of an automated and secure data distribution centre.

ING Australia required a systems integration solution that would allow the organisation to maximise the benefits from the enterprise wide information exchange project and to support the rollout.

The Solution

ING Australia selected i-BAHN as it was the only integration solution able to bring together the disparate information and data from across ING Australia and numerous locations enabling ING Australia to deliver all of the requirements of the various projects and provide the scalability required for future growth.

REMASYS is working with ING Australia's outsource service provider to supply i-BAHN and the require installation procedures as the various project are rolled out across the organisation.
